At Home

The Nissan LEAF can be plugged into any standard 240V electrical socket. With a Type 2 charging unit installed, the LEAF can reach full charge in 7.5 hours3, so you can charge overnight and start the day with a full 270km of range°.

On the Go

Along regional motorways to major shopping centres and office buildings, you can find public charging stations across New Zealand. Many public charging stations offer CHAdeMO charging, a fast charging system that charges the LEAF battery from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutesΩ.

3 This Home Charging time is based on, and requires use of a 32A / 6.6kW (7kW) wall box. Home Charging time will be dependent on charging conditions, including Home Charging type and condition, battery temperature and size as well as ambient temperature at point of use. Home Charging time is based on Nissan testing. Before using this product at home, consult with a licenced electrician to ensure your homes electrical system can support the use.
°315km range tested to Australian NEDC ADR81/02 standard. 270km indicative driving range using the new WLTP test procedure for the European spec model. New Zealand model has not been tested using WLTP test procedure. Figures obtained after the battery was fully charged. Figures stated for the purposes of comparison amongst vehicles tested to the same technical procedures only. Actual real world driving range may vary depending on factors such as battery age and condition, driving style, use of heating/cooling, traffic conditions, weather conditions, any accessories fitted and vehicle load.
ΩTime dependent on charging conditions, including charger type and condition, battery temperature as well as ambient temperature at point of use. Indicated rapid charging time requires use of a CHAdeMO rapid charger. The Nissan LEAF (39 kWh usable) LEAF e+ (59 kWh usable) are designed to support the majority of journeys in daily life and is equipped with charging safeguards to protect the battery during repeated rapid charging sessions in a short period of time. The time taken for successive rapid charging can take longer if the battery temperature activates the battery safeguarding technology.

How to get more range from every charge?

Speed, driving style, topography and weather conditions can affect battery performance. More speed uses more energy, so the faster you drive the more often you’ll have to charge. To maximise your range, try to keep your driving smooth and steady. Increase the time between charges with ECO Mode or B mode regenerative braking.

leaf

B Mode: Recover Braking Energy

Serious about maxing out your range? Activate B Mode. It delivers more regenerative braking, which charges the battery without compromising on driving power.

leaf

Eco Mode

Choose ECO Mode to limit engine output and save energy. It slightly increases regenerative braking to boost your range, too. To get the most mileage out of your Nissan LEAF, use B mode and ECO mode at the same time.
